In October 2022, the Cogeninfra Group took over, by public tender from the Municipality of Fidenza, the entire shares of Teleriscaldamento Fidenza Srl and the ownership of the agreement governing the management of the district heating service for the next 30 years. Fidenza's district heating network has been supplying heat since 2011 and has gradually increased the users supplied, counting more than 150 homes and buildings connected. The goal is to extend the district heating network to the entire city of Fidenza by bringing its benefits to a wider segment of the population in the near future. In this regard, work on extending the network has recently begun. Today it has a total connected capacity of 2.4 MW with a pipeline network stretching about 3 km. For power generation, the power plant currently uses a natural gas-fired boiler with a thermal output of 293 kW and two co-generators, also powered by natural gas, of 199 kW electrical and 293 kW thermal each. A 272.9-kilowatt thermal geothermal heat pump will also go into operation soon.
