The Mondovì district heating plant has been supplying heat since 2009, has to date a total connected capacity of 45.2 MW with a pipeline network stretching 17 km. For thermal power generation, the following are in operation :1 Rolls Royce Engine with 16 cylinders and a thermal output of 6 MW, 1 Rolls Royce Engine with 18 cylinders and a thermal output of 3.43 MW, a total electrical output of 10.4 MW, 2 thermal storage tanks of 1200 cubic metres/each, 3 heat generators, used as backup in emergency, with a thermal output at the hearth of 7.3 MW and a thermal efficiency of 93 %. In 2017, a cogenerator, with a thermal output of 1.2 MW, was installed at the Montis Regalis Hospital in Mondovì to produce thermal and electrical power to serve the hospital. All engines are equipped with SCR system which overthrow CO and Nox, according to the province of Cuneo regulations, and are monitored 24 hours a day with the certified SME system.
